This is the first case of national sanctions being imposed on sea-going vessels.

The sanctions, which will remain in force for 10 years, have been imposed on 56 sea-going vessels that have been illegally entering Ukrainian ports temporarily occupied by Russia since 2022 and exporting Ukrainian food products.

These vessels sailed under the flags of:

  • russia
  • Panama
  • Guinea
  • Tanzania
  • Cameroon
  • Union of the Comoros
  • Barbados
  • Guinea-Bissau
  • Kingdom of Eswatini
  • Togo

Information on the application of sanctions was published by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy.
