VB Partners has received the international Pro Bono Firm of the Year award for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) from the Women in Business Law Awards. The firm was recognised for its long-standing commitment to pro bono work focused on advancing women’s rights, supporting socially significant initiatives, and promoting a culture of responsible leadership.

This is an achievement shared by our entire team. At its heart, however, are the initiatives created and driven over the years by the women of VB Partners, who combine outstanding legal expertise with a genuine commitment to helping those who need it most.

Women in Business Law is a leading international legal ranking that has been recognising law firms for over 15 years for advancing women’s leadership, promoting equality and inclusion, and delivering impactful social and pro bono initiatives. The awards are organised by Legal Benchmarking Group in partnership with the British legal publication The Lawyer. The research spans more than 80 jurisdictions across Europe, North and Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.

Initiatives Recognised by the International Jury

The award reflects VB Partners’ long-standing commitment to pro bono work, including:

  • supporting the #ArmWomenNow initiative, which provides Ukrainian servicewomen with body armour and military equipment specifically designed for women’s anatomy, while also raising awareness of the initiative within the legal community;
  • providing pro bono legal advice to international companies on protecting the rights of female employees in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine;
  • representing a young woman orphan on a pro bono basis in legal proceedings to protect her property rights.

Pro Bono as Part of the VB Partners Culture

Beyond its pro bono legal work, VB Partners is committed to supporting Ukrainian service members and their families through charitable foundations established by the firm’s partners.

The Lawyers for Lawyers Foundation provides financial assistance to legal professionals serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their families. Since its establishment, the foundation has delivered more than UAH 10 million in targeted support.

The Sniper 153 Foundation supports the 153rd Sniper Training Centre of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, providing vehicles, specialised equipment and technical resources, while also contributing to the development of the Centre’s identity and organisational culture.

For VB Partners, this award is recognition that legal expertise can create meaningful change beyond the practice of law. We are especially proud that many of these initiatives have been conceived, led and sustained by the women of our firm, whose dedication continues to make a tangible difference every day.
